What a blast! Erik and I were wiped out from Sunday’s Capsule Street Fair. A ton of people came by to get New Leaf gear…and to play with Rocky! We’ve been doing this event for the past three years. It’s awesome to see the same faces and hear that they’ve been following our line this whole time.

I manage to sneak away from the booth for a short time. Swimming through the sea of people, I enjoyed the live printing by San Fransycho and Lucky Space Monkey’s nicely branded space complete with inflatable monkey head.

Thank you to all that stopped by. There were a lot of great independent tees so we really appreciate all the compliments. Til next time…

Another month has flown by, and the next show is up and running in Gallery Three - here at the New Leaf Clothing & Design HQ. Powerfully political and strikingly raw, Hugh Leeman’s work breaks all the rules.

Only in San Francisco. Every year our city hosts Bay to Breakers - one of the largest and most unique marathon races that is truly unlike anything you have ever seen. Believe it or not, people actually competitively run this race, but most folks join the drunken debauchery that takes place on the streets shortly after the real runners have made their way across. This was my first year I was around to see it in person, and let me just say, the photos don’t even come close to showing how absolutely nuts this event was. Don’t worry, I will save you the photos of male nudity.

What surprised me the most, was just how elaborate people got with their costumes. Meet “Team Elf”.

The streets were solid with people along the race course.

This guy brought his living room setup to the streets. Nice.

Go ahead…jump around. Please note: no motorized vehicles, so people had to push this thing over 8 miles.

Mobile bands rocking out everywhere.

Met up with my friends dressed as “Team Juno” (the movie, incase you’re slow).

House parties on every corner.

This 10 piece funk band had the crowd jumping. Shortly after, the cops came and swept the streets, bringing order back to the neighborhood. See you again next year.

I finally was able to stop by two of my favorite galleries in San Francisco to check out their latest installments. Shooting Gallery is featuring the work of Curve One in the show entitled “Remembering Tomorrow”.

Then over to next door, where White Walls is showcasing the work of A.J. Fosik and Kelsey Brookes. There was so much great art, but I only took pictures of the ones I really liked. I suggest, if possible, you get down there and check out both shows.

The weather is hot in SF, and that’s rare, since we usually freeze in the fog. To celebrate the chill weather, my friends and I decided to go the beach and host a bonfire. I always take for granted the fact that we live in a major city, yet still have easy access to a nice beach.

Nothing like a warm fire to bring folks together. Let’s do it again…shall we?

I’ll be heading out to China for the Olympics in August. While checking on the status of my tickets on the Beijing Olympic website, I noticed a nice collection of past posters.
